CONCEPT, DESIGN AND INSTALLATION BY COPPER LIGHT EVENTS

CLIENT ASK

The MOXY Hotel wanted to transform their hotel lobby bar for the holiday season with inspiration from top holiday films, Home Alone, Elf, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Grinch & National Lampoons; Holiday Vacation.

EXECUTION

We took the layout of the lobby and divided it into 5 distinct spaces. Each area would be centered around a classic element in each movie. Elf highlighted a love for Christmas trees, Santa gifts, snow and candy canes.

For the lounge and office space areas we focused on lighting and selective elements from the The Grinch. We created impactful and colorful installations that matched the movie to create the atmosphere. We achieved our two goals; simultaneously blending the installation with the space without being disruptive.

For the bar and restaurant area we chose none other than Kevin McCallister’s ingenuity and the infamous Wet Bandits rivalry. Memorable elements from the movie such as paint cans hanging from the ceiling, lots of cheese pizza and miniature cars for optimum bandit deterrence.

For the entrance area National Lampoons; Holiday Vacation was the choice. What better way to really bring in the Christmas spirit than a slanted, overly decorated tree and ugly sweaters? Guests immediately recognized what we were up to. Another goal achieved.
